Panathlon International

On the 30 January 2024, the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) organised the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day in Brussel (Belgium).

As part of the agenda of the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day, participating speakers discussed policies and procedures related to the application of Erasmus+ projects, as well as provided advice and suggestions on

preparing and submitting proposals, and on the different financial aspects of funding of Erasmus+ projects.

Panathlon International, represented by Fabio Figueiras, participated in-person in the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day 2024 in Brussels. In parallel to the different sessions that were planned to occur on this day, there was also opportunity to network and meet different organisations.

Consequently, Panathlon International had the opportunity to interact and exchange with multiple participating organizations, clubs and federations, with whom Panathlon International already collaborated in the past, is still collaborating or is looking forward to potential collaborate in the future.

With this participation, Panathlon International reinforced and showcased its commitment for the promotion and spread of culture and sporting ethics by fostering international collaboration through initiatives like Erasmus+. It was also a good opportunity to disseminate past and current activities and projects where Panathlon International is active, especially the ones related to Erasmus+, such as Evidence-based Prevention of Sporting-related Match-fixing (EPOSM) and Sport Against Match-Fixing (SAMF).

Noteworthy to mention, that the registrations to attend in presence to this event were closed weeks ago, as it had reached full capacity, which shows how well participated this event was.

Für sein jahrzehntelanges Wirken und sein breites Engagement in den verschiedensten Funktionen für den OL-Sport wird Ernst die Ehre zuteil, der diesjährige Preisträger des Prix Panathon zu sein.

Freiwilligenarbeit mit Herzblut

An diesem Abend geht es aber nicht nur um Sportler und Sportlerinnen im Vordergrund, sondern auch um die Leute, die im Hintergrund für den Erfolg sorgen. Um auch sie zu ehren, wird der «Prix Panathlon» verliehen. Dafür tritt Anne-Marie In-Albon auf die Bühne, Präsidentin des Panathlon Clubs Zug. «Der Preis wird an Leute verliehen, die viele Stunden dafür aufbringen, dass es Junge an die Spitze schaffen», sagt sie.

Dieses Jahr wird Ernst Moos gekürt, der auch bekannt ist als «Mr. OL». Wie der Spitzname bereits verrät, ist eine seiner Leidenschaften der Orientierungslauf, für den er sich seit Jahren einsetzt und Rennen für Schülerinnen und Schüler im ganzen Kanton organisiert. Gerührt sagt der fast 88-Jährige: «Ich war total überrascht.» Nachdem er davon erfahren habe, habe er erst einmal etwas darüber grübeln müssen, ob er diesen Preis wirklich verdient habe. Er kam dann aber doch zum Schluss: «Ja, ich glaube, ich habe es verdient.»

The Panathlon International Cultural Foundation - "Domenico Chiesa"(hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) of Panathlon International (hereinafter P.I. - 31 Member Countries), in cooperation with the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (hereinafter FICTS - 130 Member Countries), promotes and organizes the special Video Competition - with free entries - on the theme "OLYMPIC EMOTIONS."

The purpose of the competition is to promote the quality of images that highlight the values of Sport and Olympism and disseminate the principles, on which the World Panathletic Movement is founded, as universal ideals of culture through Sport, intended as an educational tool for social change.

FICTS wants to enhance and promote short films as an original form of expression, to encourage the creativity of those who approach filmmaking, and to offer them the greatest visibility through Sports.

Im Rahmen der letzten Generalversammlung des Panathlon Club Innsbruck wurde Mag. Bernhard Müssiggang einstimmig zum neuen Präsidenten des Vereins gewählt. Er folgt somit Dr. Winfried Sponring nach. „Ich bin seit 45 Jahren für Panathlon in verschiedensten Funktionen tätig. Wichtig war es mir als Präsident den Panathlon Club Innsbruck zukunftsfit zu machen, aber auch die Förderung der Werte und der Ethik, wie dies im Panathlonzweck festgelegt ist, der Öffentlichkeit zu vermitteln“, resümierte Dr. Sponring.

Der nunmehrige Past-Präsident fand aber auch kritische Worte zur momentanen Sportentwicklung. „Es muss nicht ein jeder ein Sieger sein“, forderte Sponring bei der Generalversammlung eine strukturierte Breitensportentwicklung ein. In diesem Zusammenhang sei auch zu hinterfragen, für wen die Sportanlagen generell sind, nämlich nicht nur für den Spitzensport, und auch die Verwendung der öffentlichen Geldmittel, wohin diese fließen, sei zu hinterfragen. „Jedenfalls für den Jugend- und Breitensport, aber nicht nur für den Spitzensport, hier ist die Wirtschaft am Zug“, wiederholte Sponring auch eine in den letzten Jahren mehrfach, vom Panathlon Club aufgeworfene Restrukturierung der Sportorganisationen- und Verbände ein.

„Wichtig ist es, die Werte von Panathlon der Öffentlichkeit bewusster zu machen und diese Idee gezielt auch über neue Kanäle hinauszutragen“, kündigte der neue Präsident Mag. Bernhard Müssiggang neue Ziele für den Innsbrucker Verein an. „Nach dem Schwerpunkt „Frauen im Sport“ wird ein neuer thematischer Ansatz ausgearbeitet werden“, verspricht Müssiggang.

O São Paulo Futebol Clube conquistou o título da 28ª edição da Copa Votorantim de Futebol Sub-15 de forma invicta, vencendo na final a equipe do Palmeiras pelo placar de 1 x 0, e conquistou também o Troféu Fair Play Panathlon Internacional, como a equipe mais disciplinada da competição com 8 cartões amarelos, média de 1,33 cartões por jogo. 

O troféu Fair Play foi entregue pelo vice-presidente do Panathlon Club Votorantim, Edson Veronese, o Nelo e também pelo presidente do Panathlon Sorocaba, Ademir de Barros, o Paraná, que jogou quase 10 anos no São Paulo na década de 60 e 70 e foi bi campeão paulista, além de servir a seleção brasileira na Copa do Mundo de 1966, na Inglaterra. Marcaram presença na competição o presidente do Panathlon Internacional Distrito Brasil, Pedro Roberto Pereira de Souza, além dos panathletas Elói Ferreira, João Marcos Rodrigues e Rômulo Metidieri e Manoel Corrêa, Secretário de Esporte de Votorantim, organizador do evento.
