Panathlon Club of Lisbon is officially part of the Portuguese UNESCO family and recognized as a Club to “Promote Values of Sport”.
The Memorandum was signed last Thursday, in Lisbon, and thus Panathlon Club of Lisbon will now be able to organize initiatives and apply UNESCO brand.
We will also get into the UNESCO network of associations, which are already part of it. This is a great move and opportunity and we look forward to see other Panathlon Clubs joining us in this.

Panathlon Club of Lisbon had a session on the aftermath of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and the ethical questions surrounding the event, as well as a forward looking discussion towards LA28.
The session was called “Temas em aberto em Ética Desportiva numa retrospetiva de Paris e novo ciclo olímpico de Los Angeles”
It was a great success, as we had not only the Chef of Mission of both, the National Portuguese Olympic Committee and Portuguese Paralympic Committee, but also the respective Vice-President and President of both organizations.
The session was held physically, where Panathlon members, as well as other interested people, could participate in person. For the ones that did not have the opportunity to participate physically, Panathlon Clube de Lisboa organized, as it has been doing in the last years, a direct streaming through its YouTube page, which has now the record of the session, available to watch on-demand

The National Olympic Committee of Portugal also published an article on the monthly session, which can be accessed here - https://comiteolimpicoportugal.pt/noticias/detalhe-da-noticia/?id=NEW-385b1031-626b-4e9a-8a03-e3705f33b067
